The method proposed by Tetratech was later determined to be far too intrusive and expensive. After Ms. Gaglioni left the City of Oxnard it was decided to go back to the 2018 approved Hemlock R&D project.
NOW:
The Hemlock Project is pending Coastal Commission and Army Corp approval –6 years after first approvals.
Seawall Monitoring was resumed this year (2024) and completed recently.
This request before you is based on the outcome resulting in a priority need.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the City and Public Works to move this forward and hope you and the City approve this important investment!
