NAVY TO STAGE TEST EXERCISE OFF VENTURA COUNTY COAST

Beginning in mid-March, the US Navy will conduct a training and evaluation exercise in the Point Mugu Sea Range, off the coast of Port Hueneme, which will continue for several months. The purpose of the exercise is to test and evaluate the use of unmanned surface and aerial vehicles.

Fire Protection Updates to Fire Hazard Severity Zone Maps

• District 1 Town Hall (Cabrillo, Channel Islands, Oxnard Dunes, Oxnard Shores, River Ridge, Sea Air, Sea View Estates, South Bank, Via Marina, Victoria Estates, and Windsor North) • Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Hollywood Beach Elementary School 4000 Sunset Lane, Oxnard

On Monday, March 10, 2025, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) released new fire-hazard severity maps that indicate where the State’s fire safety regulations apply and identify the responsibility for where local and county fire departments are responsible for responding to fires.
